60 Minute Hot Yoga Flow
An all levels class practiced in a heated room.
The class is divided between a standing series and floor series. The standing series starts with salutes and continues with additional standing poses which fine tune the mind, build endurance, strength and balance. We build strength and power in our feet, ankles, legs and hips providing a strong connection to the earth. The standing twists cleanse the tissues and organs deep within the body increasing circulation & releasing tensions from the arms and spine. The muscles of the body are readily relaxed and we are able to identify with all that is positive.
The floor series starts with a gentle hip stretching sequence and then moves into a spine strengthening series. The student has an opportunity to explore the state of being called "Surrender". In these postural sequences we move with mindfulness. We move slowly and with and against gravitation opening up the hip and shoulder joints. The stretching, strengthening and twisting of muscle and connective tissue releases tension, regaining muscle balance to restore the alignment to the joints.
We practice longer holds being still in the poses cultivating patience and mind body & breath awareness. The heart rate slows down and a sense of ease and well-being can be readily experienced..
